The best way to handle bullies is to bow and scrape, apologize, and give them anything they want. Then they'll leave you alone.
Because, deep down, bullies really love and respect you, and they realize your feelings are just as important as their feelings, after you humiliate yourself. Always back down from a bully.
The Norska I knew would never put up with this. Ol' Ole would just as soon beat the livin' crap outta ya as look at ya, on most days. Must be an EU thang.

Speaking of cures for the common Oslo, I saw a great bumper sticker today.
"I'll keep my freedom, my guns and my money. You keep the change."
This was on the bumper of a car driven by a non-native speaking nurse I might add.
It's no longer the "Stockholm Syndrome". It's the "Oslo Syndrome".
