Sunday funnies

Boiling water to snow in less than a second.

Spaniards demonstrate martial prowess in annual flour fight.

Mankini golfer in Darwin, Australia...well, what else is there to say, really?

The most annoying sounds in the world (Obama's voice somehow didn't make the cut).

Everybody enjoys a good cow joke.

Fred and Lamont have a culture clash.

Mankini golfer...

No thanks. I'll leave that one for the ladies.

Blazing Saddles / MPFC mashup : Piers Morgan tries the Cleavon Little strategy: "Next man makes a move, and the upper class British twit gets it!"

He's just crazy enough to do it!

BTW, the most annoying sound in the world isn't even King Putt's voice, it's the f*cking ear-splittingly shrill "back up" beeps on the powered shopping carts at Walmart.

Great Merciful Zeus!

Spiny: I think you've got a pretty good candidate, there, for the awful sounds department.

Not even close. The most annoying sound is a solitary cricket, when you're trying to get to sleep.

R-man: We have a winner! I recall a couple of occasions where I've been bedeviled by a cricket in the house at night, and searched for a couple of hours before I could find it (one time, the thing was under the floor bracket under the front door).

Something similarly annoying: the idiot neighbor's car alarm going off when he's out of town for a week on vacation.

on the mankini - no thanks rinardman, this lady doesn't want it. Would have put me off my breakfast had bacon not been involved.

Same here. If I awake to the sound of one of the critters, I just get up & hunt it down. I don't even try to go back to sleep, I can't with that infernal racket.

Well, it would seem Paco may have wasted his time, on that one. Unless he's into that sort of thing, himself.

By gum YES I do hate the sound of people playing cricket!

Aah, Crickophobia.

Need some diversity training, to be more tolerant to sports minorities!

Also garden critters.

Sanford and Son is good, I don't think we saw it in Oz.

Bruce, the A[ustralian]BC aired Sanford and Son in the ’70s.

People, please consider avoiding the use of -phobia to mean “dislike” or even “hatred” instead of “morbid dread”; it’s a device of alleged progressives which I, for one, detest. Take, for instance, the silly word “homophobe” which, instead of meaning “someone who has a morbid dread of the same thing”, is used politically, it seems, to mean misophilomophylist.

Re: Boiling water / snow.

1. Make sure you're way high up in an apartment tower.

2. Make sure it's really, really cold out.

3. Does anyone have a place where I can lie low until the downstairs lady's cat grows its fur back?

BTW: flour is flammable.

Flour also makes for a nice explosive under the right conditions, mojo.

mojo, JeffS,

Didn't Mythbusters have some fun with that, or was it powdered coffee creamer?

BTW: flour is flammable.

I found that out the first time I tried to make biscuits.

Of course flour can be used in a thermobaric device, Minicapt -- that's why grain silos have a lot of ventilation built into them, so that they don't become impromptu bombs.
