Kudos to Pat Caddell

The Democrat pollster gave a riveting lecture at CPAC yesterday, in which he attacked the GOP establishment. Among other gems was this observation:
"The Republican Party," Caddell continued, "is in the grips of what I call the CLEC--the consultant, lobbyist, and establishment complex." Caddell described CLEC as a self-serving interconnected network of individuals and organizations interested in preserving their own power far more than they're interested in winning elections.
Before we take our country back from the progressives, we’re going to have to take our party back from the over-priced and useless time-servers that constitute its elite.

  1. Maybe I should donate another $30 to the RNC, just so I write another letter, this time telling Preibus to hire Caddell.

  2. And the Jackass Party doesn't have its own CLEC?

It takes willpower and understanding to reject the siren call of all the free goodies you want that the Jackass Party uses to appeal to the voters. Maybe it's not 47 percent, but there is a large fraction of voters who vote for the Jackasses out of simple greed. That, not the Pack's position on illegal aliens, is what binds most "Hispanics" to the Jackass Party. How do you beat that?

  3. Of course the Demonrats have their own CLEC, Michael. It's what the RNC doesn't do is the point, as per Caddell: "In my party we play to win. We play for life and death."

    It's time to change.

  4. The Elephant Party plays to win the Media's affection, and the lobbyists' money... the Jackass Party buys off the low-information voters with an infinite supply of freebies.

  5. Deborah said...Pat has always seemed like a fair fellow, for a Democrat. But things aren't always as they seem, so I remain suspicious of any Democrat who knows what that party is and remains registered as such.

  6. Concur, Deborah. And he may be playing to people's fears. But it's worth listening to.

  7. Deb: Pat's also been sounding the alarm over the phenomenon of the media's pro-Obama bias, so I think he's a straight shooter. Maybe he nurtures the hope of a reformation of the Democrat Party (hey, we all have our impossible dreams, right?)

  8. "In my party we play to win. We play for life and death."

If you define 'win' as riding the disaster into the abyss, or making sure you get the best deckchairs on the Titanic.
