Snowe job
Denatured Republican and former senator Olympia Snowe offers her recipe for a permanent GOP minority (article also includes a few feeble wheezes from that tattered old accordion, Bob Dole).
These pronouncements would be amusing if they weren't so sad. I think they missed a teeny step in their analysis.
Reagan was able to 'build a consensus' because he believed in something to build a consensus around. He could thus speak to issues and policies convincingly and passionately. You knew where he stood on things. It's called leadership.

My advise to Republicans is: Grow A Backbone.
Grow a backbone and get rid of the Old Guard. That's the only thing that's going to save the Republicans.
