Yeah, that's what America is all about. A home garden planted by the four-year-old daughter of a disabled single woman (who struggles to get by on a $625 monthly disability payment) has to go because it violates USDA rules.

Deborah.... Thanks, Paco! Hopefully, the loyal gang here at PE will contact the powers that be.
ReplyDeleteWhat a travesty. I sent off my emails.
ReplyDeleteDeborah .... Thank you, Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteUpdate. I spoke the a high placed official at the agency. She started our conversation by asking suspiciously) if I was media or an individual, because she didn't want to be quoted. Hmmm. She said it was a "miscommunication", and that the lady was happy, but couldn't elaborate when asked to. I told her there are only two scenarios that seemed possible, 1) a worker overstepped his authority or, 2) the situation was crafted. Then she asked if another official could give me a call, so would I give her my name since she has my number. She gave me the number to a higher up, and it turned out to be a guy in DC. Stay tuned.
