Smoke and mirrors

Does anybody out there – anybody at all – believe that Joe Biden has a ghost of a chance of winning the Democratic presidential nomination?
While Mr. Biden has made no decision about his future, people familiar with his thinking say, he hasn't ruled out a bid for the White House. If he runs, that could set up a titanic battle between two of the party's most prominent figures.
Leave aside, for the nonce, the curious phrase, “people familiar with his thinking”, which bears the same semblance to reality as, say, people who are familiar with the method of changing lead into gold, or with the digestives process of the Loch Ness Monster (and as to the notion of a “titanic” clash, I leave it to you to figure out which candidate would be the iceberg, and which the doomed ship). The Biden candidacy speculation smells a lot like a false flag operation by Hillary Clinton’s team to obscure the rapidly spreading perception that she is approaching the nomination more in the character of heiress to the throne than in the spirit of a mere competitor for elective office – a perception that, even in the current celebrity environment of American politics, could still redound to her disadvantage.

And, to return to the intellectual deficiencies of Joe Biden, I wouldn’t be in the least surprised to learn that he’s unwittingly playing along, convinced, in the amusement park that is his mind, that he’s got the stuff to shine in the shooting gallery and take home the giant stuffed panda. Sorry, Joe, but you’re likely to find out that those rifles don’t shoot any truer than their counterparts in the real world.

Update: Steve Skubinna, in the comments - "Joe Biden, dumber than a sack of hammers, will be the perfect final president of the USA. He'll punch the button to nuke Omaha while trying to dial Domino's for pizza."

It's a pretty good bet that the Clintonistas are taking advantage of Biden's vanity and "intellectual deficiencies" of Biden The Clown™. He certainly has a high opinion of himself.

Deborah .... "Smoke and mirrors" is accurate. It's the primary tool of the Democrats and the Left. As for the ghosts, they put Obama over the top.

Wow! Just wow!

Do they use LSD?

I would not write Smirkin' Joe off. With the media behind him, and the usual array of party apparatchiks pushing, the DNC could drag a dead skunk across the finish line.

Because, racism. Binders of women. Dog on the roof. 47%. Rodeo clowns. YouTube video. Obamaphones.

Not to be a buzzkill, but the US is dead. We'll stagger along for a bit, but the pitfalls of democracy have done us in. Once a majority of the voters realize that they can get anything they want - anything at all! just by asking the government for it, a nation is done. Democracy, as a man much smarter than I once said, is two lions and a sheep deciding what to have for dinner.

Joe Biden, dumber than a sack of hammers, will be the perfect final president of the USA. He'll punch the button to nuke Omaha while trying to dial Domino's for pizza.

Joe Biden - Political Palooka.

I don't know Paco. Joe is likely to have a lock on the stupid vote, which is so important in Democratic Party primaries. The only question is, can he attract enough of them away from the charm, charisma, and elegant sophistication that characterizes Hillary?

I'll have you know that I managed to type that last sentence with a straight face. Well, almost straight.

What's more, I have faith in the ability of the GOP to shoot itself in the foot. And there will not be enough cleansing of the voter rolls to deprive the Dems of that important element of their base constituency: dead people and fictional voters.

I don't really know, Michael, but all it took was a slick-talking con-man from Chicago to derail her "inevitability" in 2008.

Deborah .... The battle plan aka " The Deal" was probably drawn up in that meeting that concluded with Obama getting the nod, and Hill becoming SOS. This election will see Hillary get the nod, and Joe get an appointment of some kind, because everybody gets a trophy.

Alas, poor America.....

I also believe it's a "false flag" operation, and Slow Joe may or may not be in on it, but the Clintons certainly know what they're doing. There never was a more power-hungry, ruthless couple in the history of American politics, excepting even the Obamas.

Deborah ....Rebecca, I agree that the Clinton's are probably the most ruthless. However, the Obama's are just pawns of the DNC. Obama is teleprompter dependent, and has been absent at crucial moments. But he's "Black which makes him a fine feather for the DNC cap. Hillary would be another feather. Democrats would be able to crow about having the first Black president, and the first woman president.
