"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Mexico is an example of how to NOT run a nation.
ReplyDeleteAlas, the American politicians (not "leaders") fail to heed this lesson. Or embrace it for their own personal gain.
Sounds like they've almost reached the warlord stage - when it's difficult to see who the bad guys are and people just wish one of them would win and bring peace.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Americans should too. Hey, Paco, what the hell is going on in your great country?

Dude, the constitution is so yesterday.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm. OK, a couple of points on that link, Robert.
ReplyDeleteFirst, TSA would have been in TSA uniforms, and had local law enforcement present. AFAIK, they don't contract out what they believe are "inherently governmental services".
Second, states have been monitoring state transportation facilities for a long time. I use the Washington State Ferry system now and then, and cars are screened as well. Only, they use State Patrol dogs to sniff for explosives. I haven't seen actual searches. Not yet, anywho.
(Yes, the screeners said "Homeland Security". That tends to be a codeword for "I'm here for your protection, so don't f**k with me", with implications that they are Feds. I've seen it before.)
Third, ... ... well, InfoWars. That's all I can say. Alex Jones and his minions are not a reliable source.
Yes, I know that DHS/TSA are in fact doing "security" checks well away from airports. Trains and highways, among other locations. This one, though, doesn't really pass the smell test. Mine, anyway.
So I'm labeling this one "possible but unknown due to questionable source".
Jeffs Yes I only noticed the source after I posted. There's an internet rule somewhere I lost.
ReplyDeleteBut, I still do wonder how much liberty the US government is taking away in the name of security.
Robert: Way too much, as is evident from plenty of other sources.
ReplyDeleteOh, no question, Robert, Uncle Sugar is way over the line. WAY over the line.
ReplyDeleteNot as good as the LaSalle but this 1940 Buick was the same colour and my first wholly-owned car. Fond memories of miss-spent youth in it.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding! You can always tell the Buicks because of their distinctive grills.
