ReplyDeleteWhat got me was that the NYTimes obit describes his 'let's not do anything while Poland gets carved up by commies and nazis' songs as antiwar but once Germany invaded the USSR and he started doing songs about how the need to go to war then the Times calls them not "prowar" songs but "patriotic, antifascist songs"

ReplyDeleteMojo, one more time! Colonel, Paul McCartney was anti-war until September 11th, then wrote a song declaring "I will fight for your right to live in freedom!". Who knows what he thinks now.
