Happy Feet Friday

I'm a big fan of the TV series, Justified, and there's a character on there called Rodney "Hot Rod" Dunham, played by Mickey Jones. I'd seen him before somewhere, but I couldn't recollect where. So I thunk and I thunk, and it finally came to me: he was one of the K&B Construction guys who appeared from time to time on the Home Improvement comedy series, most notably as the drummer in the jam session spots, in which the folks from K&B used tools and equipment to create some very exciting music (ably assisted by a fellow playing one hell of a mean harmonica).

Here's the K&B band in its first appearance on the show:

Bonus video clip! The K&B band in its final appearance on the show, with a performance of Burning Down the House:

Yes I rarely am glued to the TV set these days but Justified got me from the first minutes - great writing, casting and acting. And reminds me of people I've known too.

Sometime I sets and thunks, and sometimes I jest sets.

I agree on all counts.

So, you guys are saying I should watch this show, huh?

Well, I just added the first season to my watchlist on Amazon Prime, so I'll give it a look. I just finished season four of Warehouse 13, so I need something else to watch for awhile.

This streaming video thingy just might catch on.

I've been a dedicated Justified fan from the first. Incidentally, Nick Searcy is that rare bird, a Hollywood conservative (he also has an adopted black child, imagine that).

I never watched Home Improvement, so was unaware of the K&B Band, but it's amazing the music they made.

I just watched the pilot.

You guys may be right. Worth another look.

Careful, R-man; this stuff is highly addictive. Watch a couple of episodes and pretty soon you'll be buyin' the dvds on the street.

No need to buy the DVDs. As I said, I can stream them on Amazon Prime. No need to venture out into that cold, cruel world for a video fix anymore.
