Sunday funnies

An amusing (and actually, a pretty logical) argument against government-subsidized art (H/T: Captain Heinrichs).

Interesting professional certification: LEGO Master Builder.

Well, you can't see their women so I guess this is the next best thing.

Hey, great, something to look forward to in my old age.

Man, it was so cold the other day that my fingers turned sort of, you know, smalty.

The latest revelation of Islamic theology: "Saudi cleric issues fatwa against all-you-can-eat buffets".

  1. Still cold eh? etymonline says smalt related to French word for enamel, 'from Proto-Germanic *smaltjan "to smelt" '.

Rub your fingers in your hair to avoid frostbite - old German wives' cure.

  2. Mr. Paco,

You know I have pretty good taste and, as a member in good standing of the Stool Jockeys (Tavern) local 57, I am inclined to run into good music every so often.

    An absolutely beautiful song:

The song is "St. Roch Blues". The young lady singing lived in a very violent part of New Orleans called St. Roch. This song is about the people she knew who were killed in St. Roch.
