What if they passed a law and everybody ignored it?

No, I'm not talking about immigration enforcement. This time it may be something positive: many Connecticut law enforcement officers appear to be taking a stand against enforcement of the "assault weapons" ban in that state.

    Why not?

We have a great role model in the Despot-In-Chief. And his chief legal-beagle, who tells state AGs to ignore laws he doesn't like.

  2. Good for them.

    I smell a quiet revolution.

  3. While I'm happy they are doing this, this is really bad.

As in NY where there was a revolt of sheriffs saying they wouldn't enforce the misnamed SAFE Act, we're losing the rule of law.

America is a nation of laws and nobody respects the law.

    We're boned.

  4. Deborah... While it is a slippery slope, I applaud this. We must not enforce or comply with tyranny. Veeshir, only lawful orders are to be obeyed.

  5. I am starting to ignore more and more laws. At the age of 63 I am convinced it is folly to follow many. Not only are they often ill conceived, but they are also often ignored by most people. Traffic laws are the most obvious in my area....completely ineffectual.

I agree, however, we need laws we follow, that's the whole point of America.

A gov't of laws not of men.

Now it's a gov't of idiots making stupid laws.

  8. There's been at least attempt at satire on this very subject, and I see that your link notes a possible hoax, Paco.

So, grain of salt and all that.
