Kind of like Whitewater, except on a larger scale

Inquiring minds – including many in Haiti – would like to know where all the money raised for Haitian relief, and managed by Bill Clinton, actually went.

This is one of the main problems with progressivism and social welfare. Even if there was no fraud involved in these Haitian projects, it is enough to assuage the liberal conscience that tens of millions of dollars were raised and something was done, however inadequate or incompetently managed. Doesn’t matter whether the “something” was efficacious or timely or cost-effective, liberals can simply check Haiti off their “to do” list and move on to the next issue offering opportunities for moral posturing.

  1. Over here, the government is taking flak for cutting the foreign aid allocation. Caring citizens are appalled by the heartlessness of it all.
That total aid to the developing world totals a few trillion over the last fifty years, with so little to show for it, bothers them not much at all. Something must always be done!

  3. No, no, we're talking about the Clintons. And NGOs focussing on aiding the poor.

Okay, that takes of that. BRB, I gotta replace the Free Tiber sticker on my car. It's been on there for, what, three years and nothing's happened yet.
