New York apparently isn't circling the drain fast enough

So to move things along, the state is considering granting citizenship to non-citizens, including the undocumented variety, and letting them vote and even run for office.

How does Mrs. P feel about that?

On the one hand I'm all for an immigration system much simpler than any western country has at the moment, one that recognises that the US, the UK, Australia, and many other successful democracies were built on successive waves of immigration.

On the other hand, what the hell? Some people have waited years, even decades, to get their green card, and been cheated in the process - and they're being given second preference to freeloaders who are lucky enough to do their freeloading in a left-wing state?

Rebecca: Mrs. Paco is not amused.

Deborah.... Tim, the immigrants didn't sneak in or, more recently, arrive brazenly demanding everything be given to them. They were proud to be Americans, and understood the national language is english.

I'd suggest a wall but the illness is airborne.
