"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Off topic, but...
ReplyDeleteFrom the blog of Jim Miller - an interesting comment on Obama, Bill Clinton, and the story the White House has been telling about Bergdahl.

ReplyDeleteBilly Jeff lied because it was the easy thing to do at the time; he didn't seem to be perturbed by what might be considered 'good' or 'bad' in any situation. And he wanted people to like him.

Obambi's problem is that he doesn't seem to be intellectually able to follow difficult discussions requiring knowledge in depth, or studying materiel which might add to his present store of knowledge; and he prefers to have people around him who will utilise 'low cunning' to devise schemes which can substitute for proper decision-making.

ReplyDeleteI get the impression that Obummer has given up on pretending to be statesmanlike and settled on being the a-hole at the back of the class. He's got 18 months left in the White House and the citizens will not weep to see the back of him.
Averse to work and ready to mock anyone else's achievement. How else to explain the chewing gum at Normandy?
(Thankfully WE had a real Prime Minister representing us, and not that idiot Rudd or his Medusan partner in crime.)
Gregory, it ain't an impression, and you ain't alone in having it: The Obama post-presidency has already begun.
ReplyDeleteJeffS,
ReplyDeleteThe parties of rigidly like-minded Obamaites sound very much like the social events that continued on Singapore after the Japanese landings in Malaya, until the final invasion of the island. It was all business as usual and don't you dare suggest there's any sort of a problem.
Here's hoping that someone in the Republican Party is watching Tony Abbott's government and taking notes.
