Why, you could've knocked me over with a feather

Obama admits that he doesn’t have a strategy for dealing with the Islamic State…“yet”.
“I don’t want to put the cart before the horse,” Mr. Obama said in a news conference at the White House. “We don’t have a strategy yet. As our strategy develops, we will consult with Congress.”
Well, you’d better get on it, Barry, or you’re not going to have a cart or a horse.

Oh, and if you’ve developed an interest in consulting with Congress (however belatedly), you might want to include a couple of other little issues, like amnesty and climate treaties.

Update: Sorry, dude. Wearing Ronald Reagan-style suits doesn't make you the Gipper.

"Nice try, Junior."

We don’t have a strategy yet.

Translation: "I need to figure out a way to blame the Republicans, if something goes wrong with my plan."

We all knew he didn't have a plan, but I am surprised that he was stupid enough to admit it.

He's like one of those smart, effective presidents you read about in the history books.
Except he's not smart.
Or effective.

Right: unbelievably stupid.

A "plan"? He has a plan for the Middle East? Well, now I've heard it all! When did that happen?

@Mikael

Not yet, but he's the smartest, most accomplished Prezzy...like..ever! He'll probably develop it between putts on the 18th hole. It will most likely be drone strikes that he himself, without advisers, targets and approves. Targets that are stupid enough to cross his "Red Line" drawn in the shifting sands of Iraq & Syria.

Then, he'll read ten letters from his subjects. All in a day's work.

The only part of his statement that is actually a lie is the word "we." I guarantee that DoD has a sheaf of plans ranging from "stand and watch" to "nuke 'em from orbit." Hell, DoD probably has plans for invading Switzerland, and no, I am not joking.

They have people whose whole job is to draw up plans for everything, and to update them. Because you never know when the Prez will say "Hey, I've had it with those chocolate eating, clockmaking, neutral bastards with those holes in their cheese - what can I do to them?"

There are a ton of plans, but Obama is not really interested in actually doing anything about the situation, and he's not stupid enough to say that out loud.

Speaking of Switzerland, little known fact: there is no actual language called "Swiss." The majority of the country actually speaks Austrian.

Steve S. is right. The people who matter are probably dancing from foot to foot waving papers because they have a plethora of plans. What Obama means when he says "we don't have a strategy yet" is first and foremost "I don't want to have to make a decision and actually stand by it."

Also, the tan suit is just another empty one, so why the fuss?

I'm reading reports on Drudge of ISIS operating in Juarez, just over the boarder.

His strategy of fundamentally transforming America is going well.

Michael Ledeen thinks The Jarrett Junto does have a strategy:

I haven't made up my mind yet, but it's well-worth a read, I believe.
