Deer me

I was heading to the supermarket yesterday when I saw these guys - bold as brass, at high noon - grazing in somebody's front yard.

That's a common sight around these parts.

They seem to be getting more comfortable around humans in these parts, too. I've said it won't be long before they'll be relaxing on the deck.

Et in Arcadia ego.

Shepherds? Pan-flutes? Satyrs?

My brother lives in the San Juan Islands, where they have deer so up fazed by humans that a person can hand feed them. They're real pests, with no predators around.

But they are tasty. I'll give them that much.
