Fancy footwork in Russia.
The art of the snowman. One of my favorites: Snowzilla
The above article reminds me of the classic Calvin and Hobbes snowman cartoons.
Moonshine turns out not to be the preferred hipster drink.

ReplyDeleteMen who don’t have to clean up after themselves are the most likely to spray & pray. As a bachelor, I learned early on that I’d rather sit & relax, than lean & clean.
You know things in Russia must be bad when they don't even mind being hit by cars.
ReplyDeleteThe Generation Y doesn't understand the concept of "pure alcohol". I (sort of) recall my college experiences with Everclear, which is 190 proof. There's a reason for mixed drinks.
ReplyDeleteUnless you're Russian, or just want to get blasted without benefit of flavoring.
HAW! I love Calvin and Hobbes, even years after the strip stopped. Alas, after his "retirement", Bill Watterson has surfaced only once that I've heard of.
ReplyDeleteA few still make moonshine in my home area of western IL [families migrated to the IL River bluffs from western Virginia in the 1790s and set up stills]. They 'brew' it in proofs of a bit less than 100 to 180 or so. Everyone knows to cut it with branch or crick water. ;->=
ReplyDeleteJXM: My father brought home a jar every now and then. My brother suffered horribly from bronchial asthma, and a teaspoon of 'shine mixed with sugar was the only thing that would cut through the congestion and open him up.
ReplyDeleteI tried it uncut - once.

That's the once, Minicapt. I thought I linked to it, but I dorked up the hypertext.
ReplyDeleteI was introduced to the idea of moonshine in a pickle jar by Justified's Ma Bennett (whoah!), but what are these jars with the pickles still in them?
ReplyDeleteHome remedies are the best, no doubt.
Oh they're cherries.
ReplyDeleteMags Bennett! Man, she was one smart and wicked woman.
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying the new season. Kinda sad that Boyd killed Dewey, though. Dewey was so comically stupid that I looked forward to seeing what dumbass thing he'd do next.
Yeah I like Dewey's bumbling, it was instructive: Survey the battlefield before charging in, Dewey!
ReplyDeleteNo haven't seen latest. Boyd? Justice was done.
