Hey, ladies, who wants a sandwich?

Democrat (of course) Representative Barbara Lee says climate change could create food shortages that may drive women into prostitution. Jim Treacher marvels.

Okay, I have to ask.

If conditions will be so bad women have to prostitute themselves....where will the men get the money to pay the women?

A warmer world means a longer growing season, especially valuable in places like Russia. More CO2 means a higher concentration of a plant nutrient which now limits plant growth. Warmer phases in the past seem to have been wetter. During what is called the "climatic optimum" period of the Holocene, when temperatures were higher than they are now, about 6-8000 years ago, grassy parkland with large herds of animals flourished in what is now the Sahara.

These envirowackos had better hope climate is changing in a warmer direction, and not a colder one. Another cold period really would adversely affect food supply and make the world drier. And that's even without any ice sheets forming.
