Sunday funnies

"The year's 10 weirdest excuses for calling in sick". My personal favorite is the excuse provided by this hero: "Employee broke his arm reaching to grab a falling sandwich."

Important international economic question of the day: should Australia's currency be renamed the "dollarydoo"?

Innovative optician branches out (click to enlarge)...

President 666.

Home security system...

Deadpan comedian (and, incidentally, the voice of Frosty the Snowman) Jackie Vernon does his famous slideshow bit.

Just in time for Halloween, Hickok45 demonstrates the quick and easy way to carve a pumpkin...

Since Iran calls America "the Great Satan" and Obama is the head of America.... Iran might have this right.

It would be great to see a pumpkin carving demo like that. That would scare Hillary,
Feinstein, and the rest. BWAHAHA! Wouldn't it be great if he was able to carve Hillary's or Diane's face with that Henry?

That vision center does look like it's high end.

Someone's having a lend of you. All that "dollarydoo" stuff is coming from foreign news sites. The picture is of a local bank economist, not named Probst (who I've never heard of), who reports every morning on the day's business, and I'm sure he never said anything like that.

RE: Jackie Vernon - Thanks for the memories.

One of the great shtick comedians. Somewhere in one of my storage boxes I have one of his albums [the Slideshow Bit works in just audio, as well].

Bruce: No, it's 100% legit. And the new currency is going to be backed by platypus pelts (or maybe it's proven reserves of Vegemite; can't remember).

Bob: I always loved the guy. That hang-dog face and the understated delivery; priceless.

Wow, I'd better "get cracking" as we say. Is it too late to buy up all the platypus pelts? I'll contact Paco HQ by carrier pigeon to discuss stragety when I've consulted the usual insiders, oops, I mean consultants.

Get some money down on 90-day platypus pelt futures now!

They may also introduce an electronic currency, to be called the "e-kidney".

Cheers

Ha! I prefer the Band-e-coot. Paper currency maybe the Duck-bill.
