Sad. The poor oddity didn't have to be shot, just relocated. Predators are an important. I saw the effects of coyote eradication in Arizona. It was a viscous cycle of kill coyotes, be overrun by rabbits, kill rabbits, coyotes find other prey...start from one.

My first thought always on seeing an animal like that is "I hope it didn't reproduce".
