According to Muslims, Muhammed was the perfect man. Muhammed tortured his captive enemies and murdered them. Therefore it is legitimate, indeed praiseworthy, for Muslims, 1400 years later, to torture and murder their captives. It's like a syllogism: Mo provides the example of perfect, praiseworthy behavior; Mo murdered and tortured infidels; therefore murdering and torturing infidels is proper behavior for Muslims. Quod erat demonstrandum.
In one case Mo built a fire on the chest of the sheikh of the Khaybar oasis (inhabited by a Jewish tribe, that Mo and his boyos annihilated) as an "incentive" for the man to tell Mo where the tribe had hidden the treasure Mo thought they had and attacked them to get. When the sheikh still didn't tell, Mo had his head sawed off. When you hear or read of Muslims taunting Jews by saying "Khaybar, Khaybar," that is what they are referring to.
So, you see, what the jihadists do is sanctioned by the highest authorities of Islam, the Quran and Muhammed's behavior. As such, it is valid for all time and all places, in 7th century Arabia, in 21st century France or, for that matter, on the planet Nebbish a thousand years in the future.
But Hillary (among others) tells us that Islam is a religion of peace. Who are you going to believe, our wannabe Fearless Leader or your lying eyes?
