Caroline Glick on James Bond villain wanna-be, George Soros

My question is, just what the hell is he after? How does destabilizing western democracies lead to a better world?

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that Soros wants a world controlled by a small elite, predictable and tidy, free from the messiness of individual liberty. Seems to me, though, that that kind of thing was tried on a large scale in the 20th century by various "visionaries", with rather negative results. The last thing we need is a revolutionary billionaire with a god complex.

  1. Yes just like he claims capitalism doesn't work because people like him manipulate markets (so stop?). Paul Krugman even dubbed such people playing with currencies "Soroi".

I guess, charitably, he's an anarchist, over-optimistic about human goodness, opposed to western civilisation.

Mahathir of Malaysia blamed him for the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, calling that a Jewish conspiracy. Caroline Glick's stance throws that out. Of course there are leftist Jews in Israel who share some of Soros' beliefs, but most see the reality. I just read that Soros met Mahathir and persuaded him to drop his animosity. Mahathir is very cantankerous so that's amazing (Australia gave Mahathir a "Colombo Plan" scholarship to study here when he was young, and he thanked us with his enduring hatred if I recall correctly).

  2. Does he have fricking sharks with fricking lasers?

That might give us an insight into his motivations.

  4. That's not uncharitable, Bruce. That's reality.

  5. George Soros is a monster. Like all monsters, he should be put down, but it probably wouldn't solve anything because I understand his son is as bad as he is.
