My grandson just came through The Crucible, and is graduating as a full-fledged Marine today, and a meritorious promotion (we don't know the rank yet).

Congratulations to your grandson, Rebecca. Always nice to hear not all of his generation are useless snowflakes.

Congrats, Rebeccah.
I've been an avid reader of the U.S. Marines battles in the Pacific in WW2.
U.S. Marines kick butt and the physical requirements for fitness and endurance are extraordinary from what I've read.

I hope his patriotism is not taken advantage of by any more corrupt U.S. leaders.

Please pass our congratulations, admiration, and eternal gratitude to him! And to his parents! He certainly has proven his worth to earn a metorious meritorious promotion. Good luck to him!

Please contact Operation Gratitude to get him a nice box of goodies. The founder, Carolyn Blashek, has a fondness for Marine's. Her son served.

If you're at base in Oceanside, California, may I suggest going up to Dana Point to Captain Dave's Dolphin Safari. They are the best whale watching outfit! Maybe you'll come back later when the Blue Whales are there. They're something to add to any bucket list. But now, there are Grays migrating with calves, and other types headed north. Ah, a day at sea....
