A great career. Over here we saw him in Beach Blanket Bingo in an unusual role, and Get Smart and similar stuff where he brought enormous personality and glimpses of a side of Hollywood we knew little about. Because he was just outside our perception I don't think we had his TV shows, only if he appeared say on Dean Martin who we knew better. But looking back, wow Rickles was in lots of stuff and left a strong impression.
It's always especially sad news when one of the greats leaves. Though he may be imitated, he can never be matched. He set a very high bar. Mr. Rickles excelled at everything he did as an entertainer. It'll be interesting in Heaven. St. Peter, Archangels, and angels better watch out;
