What rabid, right-wing white supremacist said this?

"Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be carefully used and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of the citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against arbitrary government and one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible."

Yeah, that's right. Hubert Freakin' Humphrey (discovered at The Feral Irishman, along with a host of other excellent observations on the right to bear arms, including the following image).

You know liberal's brains are really messed up, when they can look at the logic behind that school "gun free zone" image, and still defend the concept of making schools "gun free zones".

HHH would have to go to a reeducation camp, to be a Dimocrat today.

'These are not your father's Democrats/liberals' often comes to mind.

14 months without a Veep after JFK killed? Did not know that. So McCormack was first in line after LBJ. My grandmother would have been pleased McC was Catholic.

We defend our children with a sign that reads:
"THIS IS A GUN-FREE ZONE".
It kind of makes sense, if you are a leftist, inviting psychopaths to finish off the escapees of the abortion clinics.

The best example of that kind of thinking I've seen recently is the photo of the smug smiling kids with the sign saying "Mr. Trump, if your workplace can be a gun free zone, why not my school?"

Which is... you hope they're being sardonic and mocking the rest of the kiddies, but almost certainly they really think they're making an unanswerable point. Which they are, but only because it's too stupid to seriously address.

And incidentally, yes, I am bitter than when I was 16 nobody insisted that I be put in charge of national policy. What the hell?

Once upon a time, common sense ruled the land. Then we elected Bill Clinton, and it's been downhill ever since.

Well put, Mike. It was good that you qualified "sense" and "leftist" with "kind of", since they usually don't go together.

That photo is disturbing. Only kids would go to a anti-gun protest and smile. On second thought, no. Their role models would too.

If they stayed in class, they might have learned the meaning of "sardonic". I disagree that it is unanswerable point. It's just that they won't like the answer.

The "children shall lead" idea came out of the 70s. If it was traced back, the roots were probably in the Progressive Movement/Democrats. What better way to manipulate the masses.

I thought it came in with Jimmy Carter. Although the point could be made that it started with JFK's assassination.

Just to be clear. There were bright spots of clarity and common sense, such as Ronald Reagan.
