The library

The Art of Manliness has an interesting post (with photos) about the libraries and studies of famous writers. Well worth a look.

Stepping down a few notches, here are some photos of a lesser-known author's library, where yours truly sometimes sits and thinks deep thoughts (Beach or pool tomorrow? Hamburgers or Tacos for dinner tonight? Is that picture crooked?)

Now, if I were as rich as old J.P. Paco III, I'd like to having something more on the scale of the library of the Escorial Palace...

My library looks more like this:

(And I've checked out these type of roadside bookstores over there too. Bought a Don Quixote translation among others).

We had this guy Bob Gould in Sydney whose bookstore had huge stacks, eventually fell over and killed him. I think that was how he wanted to go.

Bruce: the ideal way for a bibliophile to go.

That's an impressive array of books, rivaling what I used to own. I'm downsizing now, though, relegating everything to my Kindle.
