Today - Barack Obama's birthday - has been declared Barack Obama Day in Illinois.
Ah, how I miss those halcyon days when the country was ruled by the most awesome genius in our nation's history.
Seriously, I believe the greatest con ever pulled in U.S. politics is when the Democratic Party and the media combined to foist this glorified ward-heeler, this profoundly ignorant charlatan, this apotheosis of the Dunning-Kruger effect on the American people. Trump is the genuine breath of fresh air; Obama was never anything but a stale, mothball-infused whiff of socialism and identity politics.

But he was kind of an iron fist in a velvet glove too.
How do you celebrate it? Spend the day poorer and less free? Oh wait, it's Illinois, you already are less free.
Eh, you probably lose your job and your health care.
What, no 'day that will live in infamy' comment yet?
I suppose, if you lived in Chicago, you could celebrate by going the whole day without getting shot.
Well, it is an established medical fact that cocaine abuse can lead to Anosognosia, dependence on teleprompters, and being elected President of the United States of America.
Oh, so you celebrate by leaving Chicago?
I have a feeling that Barack Obama Day in Illinois will be celebrated just like Juneteenth is celebrated in Texas. It's what you call one of those "invisible" holidays except to a very small group of people who are the only ones who remember what it's all about.
We wuz wrong, you celebrate Obama Day by being shot.

Meh, I'll give it a miss.
Haw haw! Obama gets a commentorative holiday, while a long-dead Revolutionary War hero gets an official holiday (in Chicago, anywho).
General Pulaski earned it. Obama did not.
