George H.W. Bush, RIP

Breitbart has a good summary of the man's life.

Bush had quite an eventful presidency: the first Gulf War, the incursion in Panama, a ringside seat at the fall of the Soviet empire. And he had accomplishments enough for two lives even before becoming president.

He was a decent and honorable man, in a profession that little tolerate such traits... or does not today at any rate. I think his loss to Clinton was a watershed moment, which in years to come might be appreciated as the "anything goes, whatever it takes" approach winning out.

So next time some lefty sneers at Trump's bone spurs, remind them of their draft dodger who beat a genuine war hero back in '92.

Absolutely spot on.

I'm grateful for President Bush's Pacific service. My Dad said the arrival of the Americans in Sydney 1942 was one of the happiest of his life, gave him hope, in a world falling apart.

HW was a rare blend of wanting to do the best for others and the ferocity to fight. Many laughed at his thousand points of light, but isn't that what good people try to achieve...be a bit of light. God continue to bless him, the family, and his friends.

A little aside...his service dog, Sully (named for the famous pilot) will accompany the casket. Then Sully, who is highly trained, will be sent to Walter Reed to help the veterans. GW Bush said they will miss him, but his talents are about two pages long and will greatly benefit other service members.
