I had forgotten...
...but have been reminded by Ed Driscoll that ol' Pinko Cronkite was an early shill for environmental alarmists and population paranoids.
Producing red meat takes up land and feed to raise cattle, which also emit the greenhouse gas methane.
Isn't it funny how the envirodopes never stop to think how much land would be needed to convert the world to an adequately heathy plant-based diet, how much fertilizer would be needed (which cattle produce for free, btw), how much water would be needed for irrigation and how much runoff there would be into the water supply, and how much methane is produced by rotting vegetation? No, they haven't. Thinking things through is not an envirodope thing.
