For what it's worth, here in the SW, any wild honeybees are assumed to be Africanized (aka killer bees), because they're so common now. A handful of people are still killed by them every year, but not very often.

That was a bit awkward. What I meant is that the killer bees are still quite capable of killing someone, but it doesn't happen much anymore.
