I was sorry to read that St. Louis Cardinal great, Bob Gibson, is suffering from pancreatic cancer. May God help him in his battle with this affliction.
I remember listening to the 1968 World Series on the radio, and gnashing my teeth as Bob Gibson pitched two victories against my Detroit Tigers. He lost the 7th game, though, to my hero Mickey Lolich, who won three games in the Series.

(Pancreatic cancer took my mother 6 years ago. It's about the worst cancer there is.)
I'm sorry for your mother. I've heard that it is almost always lethal.
