Mystery flower

I'm not sure what this is - some kind of daisy or sunflower or possibly rubeckia (black-eyed susan) - but it sprang up in the yard without any assistance from me.

It's a rudbeckia, sometimes called a blanket flower or warbonnet. Nurseries carry them. Most likely a seed caught a ride in the bowels of a bird.

Oops, sorry, it's a gaillardia. I get the names rudbeckia and gaillardia mixed, but the flowers are different.

Thanks, Rebecca. They showed up in a couple of places, and we were glad to have them. Very long-lasting flowers.

I grew both of them, gaillardias and rudbeckias, among others, when I lived in America. Now I'm in Florida, and I would not abuse an innocent plant by putting them in this nasty, salty sand.
