The Economist finally goes irretrievably bonkers

"The Economist Calls for ‘Complete Overhaul’ of Economy to Fight Climate Change". Gawrsh, Mickey, that would mean a whole lot more government control, wouldn't it?

I laughingly recall how many of my inside-the-beltway "moderate" acquaintances used to cling to The Economist - I believe it was mostly through snobbishness - and tut-tut at any charges of knee-jerk leftist influences in the magazine.

Update: Think environmental fanaticism isn't a religion? Think again: Seminary Students Offer Confessions To Plants In Ritual.

People are going freaking crazy.
Our betters are losing control and their minds.
It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.
They keep coming up with worse and crazier reasons/ways to control us.
As the great global worming scam comes unraveled by reality they get more strident and LOUDER.

Yes, with respect to climate change, it's very much as if the scholars at the Academy of Lagado have taken over. Madness all the way through, top to bottom, up both sides and down the back.

I believe this study has been linked here before, but I think a refresher study is always a good thing.

The world in general (and the United States in particular) does not have an overpopulation problem. Nor are humans and mice alike. But the species have some common ground, and we are seeing bizarre human behaviorial changes with disturbing parallels to the mice utopia experiment.

I don't have a firm conclusion for this. I can only suggest that this trend is any thing but complete.

Jeff: To borrow from, and mangle, Bob Mitchum in Out of the Past: "If I have to be a mouse, I'm gonna be the last one".

"Zanny Minton Beddoes" seems to have never been anywhere south of a chauffered Bentley. Nowhere near a truck or *shudder,* a slightly overweight waitress.
