My little brother had a set of those. For the first week after he got it, my dad and uncles barely let the kid play with it because they couldn't stop playing with it.

They weren't playing with it, Rebecca, they were doing safety tests, to make sure your little brother wouldn't get hurt by a dangerous toy train.
Very conscientious of them.
Yes, "playing" and "conducting safety tests" look a lot alike, I can vouch for that.
