Before and after

El Mercurio has a gallery of photos showing metro scenes before and after the riots.

It is difficult to see how destroying infrastructure improves anyone's lot, but I guess that really isn't the point for the vandals and self-styled "revolutionaries" who engage in this sort of behavior.

When I started looking at those pictures, I thought it looked like the handiwork of one of the anarchist groups that like to take advantage of mild civil unrest, and turn it into mass destruction just because that's what they like to do.

And, sure enough, in picture 26/30, there's their calling card spray painted on the wall...a red circle with a red letter A in the middle of it.

"Down (with) the state" in the last one also seems more than a little anarchist. I'm quite sure they're proud of themselves, the overgrown adolescents who were either beaten too often by their fathers, or not enough.
