Hey, fair's fair: blonde man jokes.

Clint Walker makes an appearance on the Jack Benny show.
Comfort bull?
From Powerline's "The Week in Pictures".

There's always one guy who can't seem to figure it out.
Looks like a Mexican standoff.
H/T: Tastefully Offensive.

ReplyDeleteAnd in the L.A. market, we had 7 channels to choose from, plus a UHF channel 53 with the late great Gene Scott.
ReplyDeleteI'm not snarking on the segway guy because my skateboard/motorcycle/dodgeball/jumprope/first smooch/ first job/first car/ first fight/ first grade memories are all encapsulated therein.
ReplyDeleteHa, we had 3 TV channels until the mid 1960s. Then 5 until the 90s, 2 of which were BBC clones. No need to change channels really.
ReplyDeleteWe also had just three channels, all at the whim of Mother Nature and her reception limiting tricks. Put it this way, 'snow' wasn't a word we used just in the winter time. But, the 19" B&W TV we had was still better than what my parents had when they were young, I guess.
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side, we didn't have to wade through shag carpet to change the channel.
Until I was seven years old, I didn't know what television was because the western interior reception towers hadn't been built yet.
ReplyDeleteWe had a whopping 5 channels, two out of Canada.
ReplyDeleteAnd we could listen to another Canadian TV station on the FM radio -- one station broadcasted their audio on the US commercial FM band.
I got those 2 Springsteen cds in 1992, with one song '57 Channels and Nothing On'. '57?' I could hardly believe it then. Now we have more, and yep - nothing on most of the time.
ReplyDeleteIn case my comment elsewhere vanished into the ether, so plased your blog still exists, and, it appears, in fine form, honourable Paco-san!
ReplyDeleteLove, carpefraise.
Yikes, so PLEASED you're still posting...

Did you learn to speak Canadian, by watching the Canadian TV, eh?
ReplyDeleteHA HA! Yeah, I did, living maybe 15 miles south of the 49th Parallel. When I went to college in South Dakota, I was asked if I was deaf, as I kept on ending my sentences with "eh".
Hilarious, eh?
Carpefraise, I'm delighted you could drop by! Please do so often.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mike, for the full sketch.
ReplyDeleteJonah,

Don't forget UHF Channel 52, an early precursor to The Cartoon Network, with the classic Speed Racer.
