I've always said those Australians are a clever lot

And that includes their birds: "Australian raptors start fires to flush out prey".

Wow, did not know that.

I think it's mind blowing. Time for a remake of The Birds!

Arsonist birds eh?
Well as we all know, Australia is peopled entirely by criminals.
Now I wonder what the kangaroos are up to

V: I think they're primarily operating as "smash-and-grab" specialists. Superb get-away skills.

True. I live in thick bush and I hear kangaroos all the time (swamp wallabies but same). But in 20 years I've only seen one in the bush here twice, just a glimpse as they take off. You hear this loud double thump (feet-tail) as they take off and then gone. You also see their prints.

This gives new meaning to the term "birds of prey".

I wonder if certain Californians will make claims that their fires were started by birds. Heads will spin. Birds or homes...Birds or homes....
