2nd amendment looking pretty good about now

Unlike earlier gun-buying spikes, which stemmed from the fears of traditional 2nd Amendment supporters over the possibility of bans and confiscations (typically arising in the wake of mass-shooting events, exploited by gun-grabbing Democrats for maximum political leverage), the present surge includes many first-time gun buyers, including a not insignificant number of people who, historically, have been indifferent or even hostile to gun ownership, and the purchases are being driven by a perceived need to protect themselves and their families, not by a simple desire to add to an existing private arsenal. Their fears may be exaggerated, but their instincts are correct: each of us bears the primary responsibility for our own safety, and in uncertain times, a baseball bat or hammer probably isn't going to get the job done. From the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action:
Demonstrating a newfound appreciation for Second Amendment rights during this time of upheaval, many of those purchasing firearms in recent weeks are first time gun owners.

This fact was pointed out in a March 14 tweet by Donald Trump Jr. In his tweet, the avid gun rights supporter acknowledged the trend and noted, "The irony of it all is that it’s my Democrat friends reaching out to me now asking me which guns they should buy just in case... in particular which ARs. I guess they’re ok with the 2A now??? You don’t need it, till you need it."

I think a whole lot of attitudes are changing in the midst of this panic.

Boy are the snowflakes surprised when they find out they can't have a gun shipped to their house.

Well, two points about this:

First, the city of Bellingham, WA is looking to stomp on civil rights, specifically the 2nd Amendment.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I grew up near by. It's become a leftie bastion, thanks to Kalifornia Kolonists, following in the footsteps of Seattle and San Francisco. That wasn't the case a few years ago. It'll be interesting to see how that fares.

Second, in a more humous note:

"5 Guns for the Prepper to Buy for the CoronApocalypse"

Jeff: Some good options, there. Classic Firearms had a boatload of S&W Model 10 LE trade-ins not long ago. I don't know how easy it is to find the Chinese 30 cal Tokarev-style pistol, but there are plenty of the standard 7.62x25 models (right now, mostly old Yugoslavian and Romanian). Zastava still makes them new, in both 7.62 (the Model 57A) and 9mm (Model 57AA).

Sorry to hear about the continuing march of leftism in Washington state, but it's pretty much happening everywhere.

ck: They might be able to get a blunderbuss delivered to their door. Actually, there are quite a few antique rifles that are still serviceable, but I don't think I'd want to be poking around corners in the dark with an 1871 Martini-Henry or a Schmidt-Rubin 1889.
