Benedict, Pope Emeritus, has a lot to answer for

Namely, leaving a vacancy that was filled by Pope Francis, who continues to say things that are...not wise.
Oh, put a sock in it, Francis.

Pope Francis is certainly not letting a planetary crisis go to waste. He is trying to piggyback the religion of climate change on the back of the coronavirus pandemic.

"'We did not respond to the partial catastrophes. Who now speaks of the fires in Australia, or remembers that 18 months ago a boat could cross the North Pole because the glaciers had all melted? Who speaks now of the floods?' the Pope said.'I don't know if these are the revenge of nature, but they are certainly nature's responses,' he added."

I saw this meme on Facebook, and it was NOT from a Catholic. Anything but.

This latest utterance by Pope Francis is more evidence that he is anything but religious.

Unless you include socialism and communism as a "religion". I don't.

Glaciers at the North Pole? I hope he's a lot better versed in his religion, than he is in science.

I think Benedict never realised just how bad things are until he got into the hot seat. No way he could please all the competing factions. He even tried to organise a discussion with Muslim leaders, all meeting as equals, but they just squawked about 'racism' and viotimhood: cry-bullying with the West as the bad guy. Then all the factions among the Church elites making demands: the Papacy has become a job for a crowd-pleasing bull artist, not a shy scholarly type like Benedict.

I went to a Catholic school in the 1960s and was caught up in the optimistic spirit - universal brotherhood all that. Only gradually do we see how much it's a load of crap - Individuals may be able to agree, but people form these huge groups which are destined for conflict, and no amount of talk changes that.

The reason nobody remembers the ice-free North Pole is because it didn't happen.
He's either a liar or a fool.
Not a good look for a pope.

Sorry, but Comrade Francis is an Argentinian Liberation Theologist, and I knew he was going to be a disaster for Catholicism from the day he was elected Pope. I can't figure what the cardinals were thinking. Not pleased to be right.

I'm not pleased you're right, either, but there's no denying you are.

Most popes in my lifetime have proven to be naïve on this or that issue, but Francis is worrisomely, almost willfully, obtuse on several (most notably on climate change, but also with respect to China, where his own senior, Chinese clergy are begging him to stop playing patty-cake with the CCP).

Do popes still do #2 in the woods?
Are bears Catholic?

Imo, Pope Benedict is still the valid pope, whether he likes it or not.
This Bergoglio is a fraud and imposter.
