On one side, there are the pathological Trump-haters who still insist that HCQ is "unapproved and dangerous, potentially lethal", despite having been approved by the FDA since 1955 for the treatment of malaria, and on the other are Lupus patients who've been prescribed it, off label, for years with great success, panicking and flat-out angry, that if doctors give it to COVID-19 patients, en masse, there won't be enough for them.
I went to the local police state...uh, I mean Walmart, today to pick up a few things. A lot of employees and shoppers were wearing masks, except for the WalMart sentries out front. They didn't have to worry because they were just herding us cattle into fenced lanes leading to the entrance, and away from the exit. They didn't have cattle prods...yet. They had a long fence leading up to the entrance that you had to walk around first, to get into the right lane to the entrance. It was so far I decided anyone infected would be recovered by the time they actually reached the front door. If you managed to run the gauntlet, you had to present yourself before another sentry about 30 feet inside, before getting permission to actually enter the store to buy something.
R-man: Mrs. Paco and I are getting up at 5 am tomorrow to take advantage of Walmart's special offer to "seasoned" citizens (as Limbaugh calls people in my age bracket) to come in an hour before the regular opening time. So, we need to show up at 6 am. I had read about the new policy of limiting the number of people in the store at any one time. I hope that the entrance won't be so choked with early-rising geezers that we have to hang around outside for too long.
Yeah, at least when I was there, there wasn't any line of people, and I walked in without having to wait. I guess that's what the long fence was for, in case there was more people than their "limit" of people allowed inside at the same time. I heard some stores even have the aisles set up for one way traffic.
I'm thinking of getting one of these Black Plague masks. I read where some manufacturers are putting cloth inserts in them to make them effective. Should be a real hit in the old-people's neighborhood I live in now.
Paco, that's the plan: keep the geezers out in the early morning weather, they get sick, and geezer population decreases. Be careful! There will be people who will step over bodies for Charmin, maybe even pry it from cold dead hands. Good luck!
