A particularly appropriate prayer for this time

And for this president (from today's readings at Mass).

Jeremiah said:
“I hear the whisperings of many:
‘Terror on every side!
Denounce! let us denounce him!’
All those who were my friends
are on the watch for any misstep of mine.
‘Perhaps he will be trapped; then we can prevail,
and take our vengeance on him.’
But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion:
my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph.
In their failure they will be put to utter shame,
to lasting, unforgettable confusion.
O LORD of hosts, you who test the just,
who probe mind and heart,
let me witness the vengeance you take on them,
for to you I have entrusted my cause.
Sing to the LORD,
praise the LORD,
for he has rescued the life of the poor
from the power of the wicked!”

Jeremiah 20: 10-13

Chris Wallace led the anti-Trump charge on Fox this morning. It was so bad that I had to check the channel. They were trying to make hay that not all the seats were filled at yesterday's rally in Tulsa. There are a couple of reasons that stick out: 1) Democrats ordered a lot of tickets with no intention of going, of course, 2) parents were concerned about taking their children because of protests.

The rally was viewed by more than 5 million, and pointed out by Mercedes Schlap. But don't let it get in the way, Chris.

Chris Wallace has one of the most slappable faces among all the talking (air)heads; that unchanging, condescending smirk is a sure sign of resting a$$hole face.

That apple didn't fall far from the tree, did it?

By the way, great news everyone! The King County Board of Health has declared "racism" a public health crisis. Their recommended treatment is, of course, struggle sessions .

Spiny, it's probably because King County has been run by those racist Republicans for so many years, that everything is screwed up. It's good to hear they have seen the light, and will make things all better.

I'll go with that.
