Well, now Teddy's coming down

A statue of Theodore Roosevelt situated in front of the American Museum of Natural History in NYC is getting the boot, too. It isn't being torn down by a mob, but it's being removed as a result of the craven submission of authority to the mob mentality.

I expect they'll be toppling statues of Jesus and the Virgin Mary, soon, unless churches keep a good lookout.

Update Winston Churchill, on the other hand, is getting police protection.

Update II See? "Race Activist Shaun King Calls for Removal of All Statues, Murals and Stained Glass Windows of 'White Jesus and his European Mother'".

Shaun King, for those who don't remember, is a white guy who tried to pass himself off as black - hence his nickname: "Talcum X".

Yeah, I saw that. I was going to post it, but was busy writing a (long-winded) response to your Grant questions.

Again, the Maoist Red Guard-wannabes are erasing history, one monument at a time.

Re: Churchill

One of the leaders of the movement in London, a 29-year-old actress named Imarn Ayton, told Reuters that she is demanding a meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss the group’s grievances.

“I have been here every day, I am the person that leads 20,000 people every protest,” Ayton claimed, adding: “Everyone else seems to be in contact with me, except for Boris, so I would like a conversation.”

Conversation? Bullshit. She wants to issue a list of demands and won't get out of his face until they are met.

Jeff Koons will be the next Leonardo Da Vinci.

And no, I'm not trusting the churches. Drag queen Sunday school, with grinning parents, are on the way.

Oh for the days when girls used to obsess over pop stars, rather than fashionable politics.

Because whatever the girls focus on also gets the boys' attention, or used to.

It will be interesting to watch BLMtifa try to pull down the Statue of Liberty.

"I don't know, dude, we've only got a hundred feet of rope!"

I want to see them tear down the Washington Monument.
I figure it'll crush 100s, if not 1,000s.

She'll issue a list of demands that includes future meetings to tack on more demands.

Next: statues and memorials to Martin Luther King Jnr, who, let's face it, didn't say 'Kill Whitey' anywhere near as often as he should.

MLK? In time, soon. Lincoln? The already defaced him. Mount Rushmore is a very likely target. Statues are mere objects they vent their irrational rage at. The United States of America is their true target for destruction. The very concept of this nation's existence is what they hate, it's irredeemably rayciss, and what they ultimately intend to tear down to the ground. The NY Times' ridiculous "1619 Project" gives them the pretext.

Several commenters at AoSHQ noted that it is likely they are in such whirling breathless tantrum is because they know the Democrats have no real chance to defeat Trump in a free and fair election (Gropin' Joe, the dementia patient campaigning from his basement? Really?), and their preferred "candidate" Mad Marxist Bernie was NOT going to be allowed to win the nomination this time, either.

Some commenters are worrying about an attack on Mt. Rushmore. Don't know how they'd pull it off, though. It's isolated in rough country, well-guarded, and not the kind of milieu the faux revolutionaries like to parade in.

Plus it's surrounded by South Dakotans, who are not quite the same as Minneapolis liberals.

I went to college in Rapid City (the School of Mines), and visited Rushmore many times. Anyone who has even an inkling of what it took to build, will snicker at the thought of a mob attack bringing it down.

Yes, one could destroy it. But implementing the destruction would be nearly as much as work as building it was. The monument is carved from a mountain!

And that's after "they" get to it -- the park is well developed, but it is indeed isolated (as Rebecca notes), being an hour's drive from any major highway. The museum at the base is very nice, but they'd run out of soy milk for lattes toot sweet should the cancel culture cretins show up in force.

There are easier targets for the mob.

While searching "Top Ten Shaun King Nicknames", I found a few I hadn't see before: "Hueless P Newton", "Chalkus Garvey", "Snow J Simpson", "Stevie Wonderbread".

He styles himself as a "black civil rights activist" and "BLM leader", but from what I've seen on the interwebs, actual black people are laughing at him (or pissed he's using their causes as fundraising scams).

Mount Rushmore is a likely political target, I should have said. Shrieking that the government should get rid of it, or at least permanently close the Park, is something they might attempt, but trying to physically damage it is unlikely in the extreme. Pulling down the Washington Monument beyond their abilities as it is; Mount Rushmore would be a vastly greater challenge.
