Not only will the state deny you and your property protection under the law, it will also punish you for trying to defend yourself - and if you commit suicide in the process, then I guess the state will pat itself on the back for saving the taxpayers some money. RIP, Jake Gardner.

That's what ticks me off the most about people saying Trump's divisive.
Our fine betters have been othering us for a long time now, the only way to not be divisive is to do whatever they say and believe what they want us to believe that day. Which beliefs change from day to day and even hour to hour.
Recall that under Obama right-wing-terrorists were the only named terrorists. Even saying Islamic Terrorist was verboten, even as they were attacking us all the time.
That poor guy was defending himself and the gov't failed him.
We are on our own. The gov't has declared war on all people who don't worship them.
The worst part is that they call anyone who disagrees with them hitler, what they're doing is how you get a real Hitler.
And that should scare the crap out of everyone.
Who knows? Maybe Nehemiah Scudder is a few elections late.
As they say in the movies, nice people wind up dead. There's video of Gardner expressing sympathy for the pussy-hatters 4 years ago, trying to be even-handed.
Virtue-signalling means nothing when they decide to come after you.
