...we have been assured, especially by Conservative, LLC, that the "insurrection" was strictly a MAGA affair: "FBI charges Black Lives Matter activist John Sullivan in Capitol rioting". And I read somewhere that the clown in the Sitting Bull hat is actually a climate-change activist.
On an unrelated subject, I went to a couple of gun stores yesterday, and was thrilled to find two boxes of .44 Spl. At one of the stores, I also bought an inexpensive sporterized Argentine Mauser which I took out to the range (pure serendipity: the owner of the store also had two boxes of 7.65 Argentine ammo on the shelf). Sweet shooter, although I need to get used to the sights. Kicks a little, but not too bad. Lands and grooves are still well defined, no pitting, and the action is smooth.
The ammo situation continues to worsen. I was on Ammo Seek this morning, just seeing what's out there, and a search for .30-30 turned up none found (that is, a nationwide search of retail, online sites reveals none to be had at any price; fortunately, I snagged a couple of boxes last week, and paid through the nose for them). A search for the same caliber a few minutes ago now shows one place online where you can get it: if you want to pay $4.00/round.
I have resisted the allure of FN's 5.7 mm round, especially while it was entirely proprietary. Then Ruger released their own pistol chambered for it, and I thought maybe it will become more mainstream.
ReplyDeleteAnd now Kel-Tec, of all people, have their P50 pistol coming that uses the P90 magazines. So fifty rounds in a handgun, albeit a large one. But damn, it looks dead cool! And is exactly the sort of product to move me into the 5.7 fanboy camp.
But they also have chosen the worst possible time to release it - it's supposed to start shipping this March, and just one look tells you that is precisely the sort of firearm the Dems will go after. I have zero faith that it will survive the sweeping banning and confiscation our new corporate state overlords intend to impose.
Stepping back to an earlier post - I found the Dan Crenshaw item in Ace's sidebar, and I found this too.
ReplyDeleteDoctor Who is not woke enough! Too mean to black people!

If you want see price gouging, check out "Cheaper Than Dirt".
ReplyDeleteYeah, right, if the dirt comes from the moon.
That said, the NRA is leaving New York for Texas. About damned time.
Gregoryno6, didn't you hear? The ratings for "Doctor Who" are down, and the current star (a woke wyman by the name of Jodie Whittaker) is quitting.
ReplyDeleteAce is all over that story.
Steve: I'm glad to see some other companies making platforms for the 5.7mm; although I like the FN pistol, it's price tag has always put me off. Incidentally, I think I've mentioned this story before, but when my family visited the White House back in 2006, Mrs. Paco got the guard in the sentry box to step outside and he showed us his main firearm: an FN P90.
ReplyDeleteGregory: I've never been a Dr. Who fan - just didn't get around to watching it, I suppose - but I'm not surprised that it got "woke" (and will now probably go broke).
Jeff: I just read that the NRA filed for bankruptcy (a defensive move, no doubt); glad to know they plan to reorganize in Texas. I think the whole country may wind up "reorganizing in Texas", eventually.
We hope the whole country doesn't come here. We have enough problems with Lefties/Liberals/RINOs.
DeleteA friend and local business owner suggested that if Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi formed up and seceded.... One of the problems, I pointed out, is that Texas is the only state that can leave because it was originally founded as a republic.
OT Radio, and cell phone coverage has been cut in DC. The excuse, er explanation is to stop coordination by disruptors.
We now have more troops in DC than in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The troops have "shoot to kill" orders.
GOD help our country.
Sigh. "Its" not "it's".
ReplyDeleteSteve - no, I hadn't heard. Thanks for the link. Ace is probably right about the show going into hibernation until the wokestink fades.
