Titania McGrath: "Make a bonfire of Dr Seuss".
Those on the right side of history have always been supportive of state censorship and the burning of books. I recently saw a beautiful Pathé newsreel from 1933 in which early social justice activists are seen in Berlin’s Opernplatz throwing books onto a bonfire. I’m not quite sure what’s going on because I don’t speak German, but I presume they were decolonising a university curriculum or something.

When I was at UCSD, the Central Library served all three (at the time) campuses. Some time after I left, Seuss's widow made a major endowment to the school and it was renamed the Geisel Library.
I wonder if it still bears that name. Not going to bother checking, because my alma mater is already a hotbed of racist #BLM and anti-Semitic #BDS advocacy. In other words, I already know they're stupid.
Titania strikes again. I wonder how many woke jackholes will fall for it.
Titania, I think, is ridiculous enough that most leftists know not to fall for her nonsense. Or it could be that they got burned so many times by "her" predecessor, Godfrey Elfwick, that they're more cautious now.
But I would not rule it out. In an age when purportedly serious fact checkers are scrutinizing comedy and satire to make sure no lese majeste goes unpunished, nobody can be complacent. It simply might be that she disappears into the background noise, since they do in all seriousness advocate book burning.
Steve: I had to check. The library is still there, name uncancelled (for now).
Is The Critic a Babylon Bee-like site? Titana gave me a laugh out loud laugh:
"...the very act of writing a book is hugely offensive to the illiterate community."
Paco, shame on you for being offensive to the illiterate!
So are those who read offensive to the illiterate?
BTW, why is it that groups are communities except with regard to reaching the COVID goal of herd immunity?
Titania wins the a Special Kind of Stupid award. Oops! Can't give awards because someone will be left out.
SJWs are so stupid that their lips move when they watch other people read.
I've been looking at Thrift Books .com, they're actually pretty good. The books' quality is as advertised.
So I figured I'd look at Dr. Seuss books.
Two or three are $150, the rest are mostly $5-$10, except the 6 cancelled ones, they're $300-$1500.
If I would have had my wits about me, I would have gone out to the used book stores the very day the "story" broke, and I'd have picked up as many copies of the half dozen that I could find.
