and singer Weldon E. “Big Bill” Lister was a popular sideman on
the country music scene in the 1950s and '60s, and a solo performer in his own
right (he was the opening act for Hank Williams' 1951 tour). And
here's a fascinating fact – when he retired from being a
professional musician in the mid-1960s, he became one of the most highly
regarded firearms engravers in the country. In the song below, Big
Bill serenades us with an ode to a well-known southern delicacy.
