Man, this brings back memories: Les Elgart's “Bandstand Boogie”, which served as the musical introduction to the weekly pop music dance show American Bandstand, hosted by Dick Clark.
Bonus video! Here's a popular tune from 1957 that was showcased on an episode of American Bandstand: "At the Hop", by Danny and the Juniors.
Who was the very dynamic young lady?
ReplyDeleteDon't know. The video clip picks up after the mystery woman presumably completed her performance, it seems. Also sounds as if she was actually there in the studio ("you can meet her now, if you'd like...")
ReplyDeleteA guy could have a pretty good chance at the hop. Lotsa young ladies dancing with each other.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the odds were probably pretty good.
