One of you (I can't remember whom; R-man, perhaps?) is a St. Louis Cardinals fan, so I join you in celebrating Albert Pujols' accession to the 700 club. Seven hundred home runs is quite an achievement, and I'm happy for Pujols, even if I've pretty much abandoned MLB because of its wokeness.

That be me. But, like you, I haven't paid much attention to MLB, or any pro sports for years. I happened to see a news article about Albert getting close to 700, but not only was that news to me, I didn't even know that he was back playing for the Cards. I thought he was still with the Angels.
ReplyDeleteI had been following/watching pro golf for many years, but now they have lost me with this whole LIV Golf league farce. That plus most of the golfers I liked have now moved on to the Senior golf league, and they aren't on TV very often.
I think it was cool that he hit 699 and 700 in the same game.
ReplyDeleteAlbert has always had a flare for the dramatic.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame it didn't happen in St. Louis, tho.
ReplyDeleteAxe throwing competitions and competitive eating. It's about all that''s left.
