"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
One of the many maladies I have acquired over the last few years is an eye condition named aniseikonia. My eyes no longer see equally, with one eye seeing a smaller image than the other. And of course, my dominant eye is the one that sees a smaller image. So something 50 yards away actually looks more like 75 yards away.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't help. :-(
I had never heard of that condition. Is it at all correctible, through special glasses or surgery?
ReplyDeleteI think there are some corrections, but my eye doctor didn't seem too concerned about it at my last appointment. I think he was of the opinion that if it did start to give me problems, the remedies could be tried.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I haven't really had any of the problems that some people experience, like headaches, dizziness, disorientation, etc. The human brain is really an amazing organ. I think my brain has rewired itself, and has taken the two different sized images, and combined them into one intermediate size image when I have both eyes open. And so far, no headaches or other problems. So I'm just waiting to see what happens (no pun intended) in the future.
Sounds like your brain may have resolved the problem.
ReplyDeleteNot sure it has resolved the problem, but at least it has mitigated it for now.
