"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Well, that's a news story that leaves more questions than it answered.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, the plan was foolproof!
ReplyDeleter-man: Seems to be the case with many news stories these days. I'm not sure journalism students are getting their money's worth.
ReplyDeleteStephen: Haw! Seems like this would have been a bad idea at any time, but during a SWAT-team training session indicates some truly atrocious timing.
I'd guess they're actually getting a degree in Woke, with a minor in Journalism.
ReplyDeleteAtrocious.
ReplyDeleteI bet a dollar he has no idea why someone might ask, "Who, what, where, when and why?"
The Police Superintendent said the guns were being watched. (Not very well, in my estimation.) Then he stated that the participants in the SWAT training were startled by the sudden appearance of the intruder through the door. (Aren't SWAT personnel supposed to be stronger than that.)
ReplyDeletemy cousin is from a newspaper family and trained at her father and grandfather's knee. didn't go to college. has written for informative articles for newspapers for years and is the last of the breed.
ReplyDeleteH.L. Mencken never attended journalism school, yet made quite a name for himself as a reporter, editor and opinion writer.
ReplyDeleteI had almost 4 years on the high school newspaper. And I *still* remember how to write a lead paragraph. That skill actually translates well to other documents.
ReplyDeleteAnd I graduated from high school in 1975. Never took a journalism class again.
I expect I could write an unbiased news article about, oh, Hillary. I'd have to grit my teeth and wash my hands afterwards. But I could do it.
You might want to spend a night in a Navajo sweat lodge, too, just to be on the safe side.
